Staying Healthy DURING a Pandemic while not Leaving the House is Challenging but Possible

There are many stories about the type of workout routines, and the exercise people have to get through to stay healthy. While many people talk about eating healthy and staying fit, others work on only one of the two approaches. Long before the pandemic, for the most part, people had figured out their routines, and they would work through their day jobs while they made some time for exercise. However, through the pandemic, all of that changed.

For the most part, people were not allowed to leave their houses. There were national lockdowns implemented across the country, and they could only head out for essential services or medical reasons. People could no longer travel to work during the lockdown until they raised restrictions at which point they were allowed to handle a few tasks, but those were strict as well.

With people barely leaving their houses, there were a few significant changes taking place, with people were trying to adjust to them. There were massive changes in work schedules with people clocking in a specific number of hours from home. Remote working was quite challenging since companies saw a decrease in productivity, while employees found it difficult to get through a workday, while they were constantly distracted by errands and their personal family lives. Additionally, there were massive clashes between their personal lives and work schedules since the pandemic turned everything into a blur. With the changes taking place, stress levels were high, unhealthy eating habits were common, and the inability to leave home was making working out quite challenging.

Although people could no longer frequent a gym, there were various ways of getting the exercise necessary. Firstly, depending on where they were staying, the Coronavirus situation in their state or that part of the country, varied. There were some parts of the United States and the United Kingdom where gyms were open but only in limited capacities.

The only alternative was to move to a virtual medium, following the same route taken when it came to jobs and other changes. Gym instructors and trainers were taking to the internet to spread fitness information. They were creating content and videos where people were allowed to participate from the comfort of their homes. They could do this using equipment or without and could even sign up for personal instructors and trainers who could customize requirements to match what they wanted. Most industries were moving online, and almost all processes that they could coordinate digitally and remotely had to move since the platform was a better, more secure one.

Many people were packing the pounds through the Coronavirus pandemic because unhealthy eating habits started creeping in. They were eating through business meetings, and with most not following the usual work timings, their meals were taking a hit. Work stress, mixed with unhealthy eating habits and lack of exercise, did not allow many to live a healthy life. Additionally, the Coronavirus brought about high spikes in mental health and substance abuse issues. People could not cope with the drastic changes that were taking place for most of the pandemic.

While meetings and work would crash regularly, people were unsure about meeting deadlines and getting through processes. They would be spending time working overtime to catch up on the delays taking place during the day. The worst impacted was sleep, which led to a wide range of issues, but most were not taking it seriously.

With a lot more time on their hands during the day since they were home along with many people who lost their jobs or had their companies shut, many were not planning on joining the workforce again. Many were waiting for the economy to stabilise before they could get back to work. These changes were not only helping make ​money​ on the side but were a massive help in looking after mental health because they were a welcomed distraction from the happenings around.

It can be quite challenging to get through a pandemic without social interaction, and the lockdown has been challenging for most. Connecting with people digitally, which was positive, was not enough for everyone and some needed and missed the social interaction. The lack of communication began taking a toll on the mental health of many people.

While essential services were still running, people who were in those lines of work were forced to get to their workplaces. While most people were home during the national lockdowns, essential service workers had to get to work every day, working longer hours. For the most part, whenever restrictions were lifted, companies that were functioning were forced to start the hiring process again. Many hiring rules changed, and employers were now getting their staff to get checks that would talk about their background to make sure there were no ties to criminal activities. Most professions did not want to hire people who had a criminal record since they were working with different people. Multiple companies were assisting people with the background checks that they wanted. Depending on the position that they were applying for, the test would vary.
